RESEARCH SERVICES

At the Transcona Museum, we can assist you with your historical and archival research. Staff can assist with research questions relating to family, business/organization, and community histories using the museum's holdings. Fees may apply for some services, photocopies, and digital reproductions. â€‹Learn more about our services below.

Research Services - Getting Started

The Transcona Museum & Archives, located at 141 Regent Avenue West, is open for research by appointment.  Where possible, records may be electronically provided.  To discuss your research needs, please get in touch with us at 204-222-0423 or email us at info@transconamuseum.mb.ca.  Additionally, you can search and access some of our records online by visiting Musetoba.  Please consult our Research & Reproduction Fees document as well. 

 

To ensure you receive the best assistance, we highly recommend contacting us to discuss your research inquiries or to schedule a research visit.  Please note that museum staff may be leading educational programs or setting up offsite exhibits, so contacting us in advance will help us be better prepared to assist you with your research.

The Transcona Museum is located on ancestral lands, on Treaty One Territory. These lands are the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. Our drinking water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation. We respect the Treaties made on these territories, acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and dedicate ourselves to moving forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
